MeetLingo (meetlingo.app) is a video call with a live AI interpreter. It is owned and run by EntityQ LLC (“EntityQ”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and what you can ask us to do.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run your account and your calls. We do not run analytics or advertising, we do not track you across other sites, we do not sell your data, and we do not record your calls.

Who we are

EntityQ LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, runs MeetLingo and decides how your data is used. Our registered office is 8 The Green, Ste A, Dover, DE 19901, USA. You can reach us at info@entityq.com (or +1 (608) 360-1598). More about the company is at entityq.com.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and the name you choose to show in meetings. We also save your choices: your spoken language, male or female voice, Standard or Premium voice, and whether you joined the sign-language tester list.
  • Payments: your Stripe customer ID, your purchases (the pack, amount, minutes added, status and date) and your minutes balance. If you have the monthly plan, we also store your Stripe subscription ID, its status, the date it renews or ends, whether you have cancelled it, and your plan minutes. Stripe collects your card details. We never see or store your card number.
  • Meetings: the meeting code, the languages chosen, the voice gender and quality, the host’s account, and the start and end times.
  • Usage: how many seconds of translation each meeting used, so we take the right amount from the host’s balance.
  • Sign-in codes: when you ask for a sign-in code we keep a short-lived record to limit guessing and abuse: a hashed (scrambled) version of your email address, when codes were sent, and the number of attempts. It is deleted automatically. The code itself expires after 10 minutes.
  • Server logs: our hosting on Google Cloud logs requests to our servers, including your IP address, your browser, and the pages and addresses requested (which can include a meeting code).
  • Guests: if you join a call as a guest, you type a name. The other person sees it, and the call service uses it for the length of the call. We do not store it in our database and we do not create an account for you.
  • When you write to us: your email and what you tell us.

Your voice and video during a call

  • Audio and video travel between you and the other person through LiveKit Cloud, our call provider.
  • When translation is on, our server joins the call as the interpreter. Each person’s speech is streamed live to OpenAI, which transcribes and translates it.
  • With Premium voice, the translated text is also sent to Fish Audio, which turns it into the voice you hear. On Standard voice calls, Fish Audio is used only as a backup: if OpenAI’s voice stops working during a call, the translated text is sent to Fish Audio so you still hear the translation.
  • Captions and transcripts appear on the screens of the two people on the call. We do not save them on our servers, and we do not record calls. In your browser they stay in memory until you leave or close the page.
  • Our server handles the audio only as it passes between the call and the AI services, and does not save it.
  • The other person sees your display name and video and hears your voice, translated. They do not see your email address.

OpenAI, Fish Audio and LiveKit handle this data under their own terms and privacy policies, and how long they keep it is set by them. Because your speech is sent to AI services, please do not say anything on a MeetLingo call that you do not want handled this way, and tell the other person before you start.

Why we use your data

  • To provide MeetLingo: sign you in, run your calls, take payments, renew your monthly plan and add your minutes (to carry out our agreement with you).
  • To keep MeetLingo safe and working: stop abuse, limit sign-in attempts, find and fix faults (our legitimate interest in running a secure service).
  • To meet legal duties, such as keeping accounting and tax records or answering lawful requests.
  • To reply when you contact us.

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, we do not sell it, and we do not use your calls to train AI models.

Who handles your data for us

We use these services to run MeetLingo. Each one only gets the data it needs for its job.

  • Google Cloud: hosts our servers and keeps server logs.
  • MongoDB Atlas: stores accounts, purchases, subscription status, meetings and usage.
  • LiveKit: carries the live audio, video and captions of your calls.
  • OpenAI: transcribes and translates each person’s speech during a call.
  • Fish Audio: speaks the translated text on Premium voice calls, and on Standard voice calls only when OpenAI’s voice stops working.
  • Stripe: takes payments and runs the monthly plan subscription (renewals, failed payments and cancellation). We give it your email address and name so it can set up your customer record. Stripe is also responsible for the payment data it collects, under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts: on the Credits page, Stripe’s payment form loads a typeface from Google, which then sees your IP address and browser.
  • Resend: sends the sign-in email (your email address and the code).
  • Cloudflare: DNS only. It points meetlingo.app at our servers.

We do not sell your data. We may share data if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.

Where your data goes

Our services run in the United States and other countries, so your data may be processed outside the country where you live, where data protection laws can differ. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Cookies and browser storage

  • One cookie from us: “NEXT_LOCALE” remembers the site language you chose. It lasts up to a year.
  • Local storage in your browser: your sign-in token (it expires after 7 days) and your preferences: light or dark theme, translated audio on or off, the real-voice and interpreter mix, whether to show original captions, and your voice choice. These stay on your device. Only the sign-in token is sent to us, to show who you are.
  • Stripe: when you open the Credits page, Stripe’s payment form loads and Stripe may set its own cookies to prevent fraud.

We use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.

How long we keep data

  • Account, meeting and usage records: until you ask us to delete them.
  • Purchase and subscription records: we may keep these for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting and tax records, even after you ask us to delete your account.
  • Sign-in code records: deleted automatically.
  • Server logs: 30 days.
  • Call audio, video, captions and transcripts: we do not store them.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it in a portable format, or withdraw consent you gave.

There is no self-service button for this yet. Email info@entityq.com from the address you signed up with and we will handle it by email. We aim to reply within 30 days.

If you are in the EU, the UK or a similar region and are not happy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, including under California law.

Age

You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy minutes. A guest under 18 may join a call only with a parent or guardian’s permission. We do not knowingly keep an account for anyone under 18. If you think someone has made one, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We send data over encrypted connections (HTTPS), keep sign-in codes only in scrambled form, and limit who can reach our systems. No service is perfectly secure, so if you think your account has been misused, email us straight away.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell you by email or on the site before they take effect.
