These terms are the agreement between you and EntityQ LLC (“EntityQ”, “we”, “us”), which owns and runs MeetLingo at meetlingo.app. By creating an account, buying minutes, or hosting or joining a call, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use MeetLingo.
What MeetLingo is
MeetLingo is a 1:1 video call with a live AI interpreter. Each person speaks their own language and hears the other person translated, with captions. Starting a meeting needs an account. Joining one with a link does not: guests join with just a name.
The video call itself is free. Live translation uses translated minutes, which you buy as prepaid packs or get with a monthly plan, explained below.
Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy minutes.
- A guest under 18 may join a call only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for them on the call.
- If you use MeetLingo for a business, you confirm you can agree to these terms for that business.
Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. You are responsible for your email account and for everything done through your MeetLingo account, so please do not share it. Give us accurate information, and email info@entityq.com straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.
Translated minutes and payment
- Minutes are sold in prepaid packs, and are also included in a monthly plan (see Monthly plan below). The size and price of each pack and of the plan is on the Pricing page and is shown again at checkout before you pay. Prices are in US dollars.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
- Minutes are added to your balance as soon as your payment is confirmed, normally within seconds.
- Minutes are used only while live translation is running in a call you host. The host’s balance pays for the call and a guest pays nothing. When the balance reaches zero, translation stops and the video call carries on without it. Your balance is your plan minutes and your pack minutes together, and plan minutes are used first.
- Premium voice uses 1.5 minutes of credit for each minute of translation. If Premium voice is not available during a call and it falls back to the standard voice, that time is charged at the standard rate.
- Packs are one-time purchases. A pack never renews, and we will not charge you again unless you buy another pack or subscribe to the monthly plan.
- Pack minutes, including member top-ups, do not expire. If we ever change that, the change will apply only to minutes bought after it, and we will give notice first. Plan minutes follow the rules under Monthly plan.
- Minutes have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, except as set out under Refunds.
Monthly plan
The monthly plan is a subscription. It costs $22 a month and adds 150 translated minutes to your balance each month. Its price is shown on the Pricing page and again at checkout before you pay.
- It renews automatically. Your plan renews every month, and we charge $22 through Stripe to the payment method you used, until you cancel. You agree to these recurring charges when you subscribe.
- Plan minutes. 150 plan minutes are added each time a monthly payment is confirmed. Plan minutes are used before any pack minutes.
- Carry-over. Unused plan minutes carry over for one month. At each renewal, up to 150 unused plan minutes stay on your balance and 150 new ones are added, so your plan minutes can never be more than 300. Unused plan minutes above 150 at renewal are lost.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time online, on the Credits page. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Until then your plan stays active and you keep your plan minutes, and we will not charge you again. Before the period ends you can resume the plan on the same page.
- When the plan ends. When your plan ends, because you cancelled and the paid period is over, or because a payment failed and the subscription was ended, any plan minutes you have left end with it. Your pack minutes are not affected.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may try the payment again over the next few days. If it still cannot be taken, the plan ends.
- Member top-ups. While your plan is active you can buy member top-ups: 100 minutes for $15. A top-up is a one-time purchase, and its minutes are pack minutes that never expire, so you keep them if your plan ends. Top-ups cannot be bought without an active plan.
- Price changes. We may change the price of the plan. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before the renewal the new price applies to, so you can cancel first.
Refunds
All purchases are final. We do not give refunds after payment. The only exceptions are:
- where the law that applies to you requires us to give one; and
- a billing error, such as being charged twice, being charged the wrong amount, being charged for a renewal after you cancelled the plan, or paying and not receiving your minutes.
The monthly plan. Cancelling the plan stops future charges, but we do not refund the month you have already paid for, any plan minutes you have not used, or part of a month. The plan simply stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Minutes are delivered immediately. When you pay for a pack, a top-up or a month of the plan, you ask us to add your minutes to your balance right away, and you agree that this starts the service straight away. If you are a consumer in a place with a cooling-off or withdrawal period for digital services, such as the 14-day period in the EU and UK, you agree that you lose that right to cancel once the minutes have been added to your balance.
If a payment looks wrong, please email info@entityq.com before you ask your bank for a chargeback, so we can fix it quickly. If a fault on our side meant minutes were used without translation working, tell us. We will look into it and may add the minutes back to your balance.
AI translation can be wrong
Translation is done live by AI services. It can mishear, mistranslate, leave things out, miss tone or names, and arrive late. Treat it as a helpful guide, not a guarantee.
- Do not use MeetLingo in an emergency. Call your local emergency number instead.
- Do not use it in place of a certified or professional interpreter where accuracy is legally, medically or financially critical, such as court hearings, medical care or consent, immigration matters, or signing contracts.
- Check important details, such as names, dates, numbers, doses and amounts, in another way.
You use the translation at your own risk and are responsible for decisions you make because of it.
Tell the other person
Each person’s speech on a call is sent to AI services to be transcribed and translated, as described in the Privacy Policy. Before a call starts, you must tell everyone you invite that it uses AI translation and that their voice is sent to AI services. MeetLingo shows a notice before people join, but that does not replace telling them yourself.
MeetLingo does not record calls. Do not record a call, or copy its captions or transcript, unless everyone on it has agreed and the law where they are allows it.
Acceptable use
Do not use MeetLingo to:
- break the law or anyone’s rights;
- harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone, or share content that exploits or endangers children;
- pretend to be someone else, or to deceive, scam or defraud people;
- listen in on or record people who have not agreed;
- send spam or malware;
- get around limits or billing, use bots or automation, attack or probe our systems, or copy or reverse engineer the service.
We may remove anyone who does from a call or from MeetLingo.
Your calls and content
You keep ownership of what you say and show on a call. You give us permission to handle your audio, video, text and name only as needed to run the call, translate it and take payment, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you say and show, and you confirm you have the right to share it.
Our service
MeetLingo, its name, design and software belong to EntityQ and its licensors. You may use the service for its intended purpose. You may not copy it, resell it, or build a competing product from it.
Availability and changes
We work to keep MeetLingo running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, or that every call will connect or translate well. MeetLingo relies on other services, including call, AI and payment providers, and a fault at one of them can affect your call. We may change, pause or stop features, and we will try to give notice of big changes.
Suspending or closing accounts
You can stop using MeetLingo at any time. To close your account or have your data deleted, email info@entityq.com. We may suspend or close an account, or remove someone from a call, if you break these terms, misuse the service, put others at risk, or if the law requires it. If we close your account because you broke these terms, you may lose access to any unused minutes.
No warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, MeetLingo is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that translations will be accurate or that the service will fit your particular needs. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- EntityQ is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, revenue, data, deals or goodwill, or for anything that happens because a translation was wrong or late.
- Our total liability to you for all claims relating to MeetLingo is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem, please email info@entityq.com first so we can try to fix it. If we cannot resolve it, the state and federal courts located in Delaware will decide it, unless the law where you live lets you bring the claim in your own courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. If you keep using MeetLingo after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
The small print
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about MeetLingo.
- If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- You cannot transfer your account or your rights to someone else. We may transfer ours as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.
